family
We've had an interesting day today. Robbie's dad had surgery today on his neck. As much of an inconvenience as this was for Robin, it was also difficult on me (b/c, you know, I matter more). I was worried about him. I was worried about Robbie and Kim and any other family in the waiting area. It was reassuring that I got to see him in the holding area before the case started and again in the recovery room when I was done with my last case. I felt so bad that I had gotten to see him at times when Robbie's mom (also named Kim) could not get to him. Praise God for his many blessings. Robin came through his surgery well. He will be at the hospital at least tonight. Kim did finally get to see him, which made me feel a lot better. I also got to have a wonderful bonding moment with both Kim and her mom. I feel a closeness with my new family I didn't know I would ever feel. Thank you Lord for your blessings.

catching up
So, I see that once again, I have dropped the ball. Robbie is working on a project tonight, so I've got time to say a few words. Since I last wrote, we've been through a trial of sorts. Robbie lost his job. Amazingly, I took it really really well and I honestly feel we are stronger now, as a team and as a couple, than we have ever been. I don't know that before this I would have ever said, "Yep, losing a job is such a blessing." Especially when money can be tight trying to pay down your bills and such. But, I really do feel it has been one. Robbie is working for himself as a consultant and has a project (thanks to the blessings of wonderful friends) with a group in Raleigh. We're excited about where it may lead, but even if he keeps working for himself, we are content.
Thank you Lord for provision. You are, indeed, my rock and my salvation. Thank you for helping us have nothing to fear. Keep us in your grace, Amen.
