Here are some of the things I made for other people this year (sold):
The first pictures is of a whole group of stuff I made. There is a brown toboggan, a red/fuscia hat with a flower, a matching scarf, a purse and a baby blanket!! The purse is actually a chocolate and blue color. I think it turned out pretty well overall. I'm modeling the hat in the last pic. I'm not big on flowers on things, but the customer LOVED it!

Then I decided to make gifts for the smaller/younger cousins at Granny's this year. Once I got started, it was hard to stop! There is one photo I don't have... a little jacket for River. It's the first article of clothing I've ever made and I think it turned out okay. Hopefully, she'll be able to wear it this spring and someone will catch a pic of her in it. Here are the pics I do have from Granny's this year:

They are: Kaylan (purse)
Hayden (scarf)
Ethan (toboggan)
Henry (hat)
Cole (hat)

So, after all that work, I still found time to make a few things for gifts at mom's house... I had made a Panther's hat for Sarah, James and Henry. In the process, Robbie saw James' hat and tried to "steal" it, or convince me that he needed it instead of James. Of course, I did not agree. (I didn't make Panther's gear for Daddy and Sara b/c I had seen some Panther's knit hats at their house over Thanksgiving). I was working on projects down to the last second, including starting mom's as we were driving home. I had to have something to pass time in the car. So I worked and worked until I was just about car sick, then roads got curvy and I completely had to stop. I still had more to finish Christmas eve at mom's. I tried to get up before her, she was already up. I tried to work on it while she was making breakfast, but she kept coming into the room. So, I had some extra yarn in my bag, leftovers, blue and black. I started piddling with a hat pretending to make it for Robbie (who was still asleep) and every time she'd leave the room, I'd pick up hers and go as fast as possible!! I actually finished that hat for Robbie before I could half finish hers!! I ended up going to Granny's to finish it!! So, here are the last of the Christmas crochet projects!! In the end, Robbie said he liked his striped hat better than James' solid one. :D

Hi, Kim! Thanks for following my blog. :) You have some nice projects on YOURS, too!
As for the Herrshners, I have never used it but I have used Mary Maxim's Starlette. Its a pretty soft yarn and its not expensive. You might give that a try.
Thanks for your lovely comments about the layette. Have a great week!
Sandy
